Why agents look around

What Real agents in Florida mention

  • The annual fee went up. It moved from $750 to $900 on September 1, 2026, and the broker review fee from $40 to $50.
  • Capping takes eight median deals. At $10,000 per deal, the first $12,000 of your year goes to the brokerage.
  • A much bigger company now. Real completed its acquisition of RE/MAX Holdings on August 24, 2026. Some agents want a smaller office where the broker knows them.
  • E&O is separate. Ours is included in the $49.

Fair is fair

When Real may be the better choice

  • You’re building revenue share or earning stock awards and want to keep that going.
  • You’re a team member with the lower $6,000 cap and cap early every year.
  • You produce at a very high level: at $10,000 per deal, Real’s capped model only costs less than 95/5 somewhere above $600,000 in GCI.

Before you move: ask Real in writing what happens to your revenue share and any unvested stock when you leave.
